it that it cant find the hard disk drives

can anyone help with this please?

Sounds like your hard drive, or the hardware that supports it, has died.
Could just be a loose cable, could be something worse. You need to identify
the manufacturer of your HD and get the appropriate utility to diagnose the
drive.

Put the drive in another Windows XP system, configured as a slave, and see
if you can view the contents of the drive that won't boot there - if you can
see files and access them... you should back up your important stuff.

the hard drive is a fujitsu MPG3409AT E 40.00 GB s/n VH66T1805F37

could you tell me where i can get the appropriate utility diagnose

Thanks
