Windows XP Pro won't boot

My computer froze and I had to do a cold re-boot...

Now XP won't reboot -> it gives me the error message:

SESSION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILED

It won't boot even in Safe Mode (same error).

What happened here and how can I recover from this ?

Thanks.

this worked for me in XP Home. may work 4 u.

remove HDD. set jumpers to slave SL or cable select CS. plug HDD
into a good XP PRO set (off of course). and boot it. on mine, the
auto chkdsk fixed it 100%.

good luck.

Thanks.

I used the XP CD Recovery Console and it did find errors on the boot drive. Chkdsk did the trick.
