windows XP pro upgrade

Hi

I am trying to upgrade from windows 98SE to XP (pro) but am blocked by the upgrade report that insists that I uninstall a program "Ms shared fax client".
I have never had a fax capability and the program doesn't show up anywhere to be uninstalled.
How can I trace a hidden file?
Please advise in detail as I am a raw novice.
I have seen a solution but it required a "Tools" option within "My computer" which I haven't got in win 98!

You'll find it's a windows component.

Add/Remove Programs -> Windows something -> Scroll down and look in each section.... probably find it with the communications section -> Untick it -> Click apply.

Add/Remove is found in control panel.
Thninking about it I think that W98 had the windows features seperate to add/remove programs and so it may be listed in control panel as add/remove windows components or something to the like.

Sorry my mind isn't what it used to be at my ripe old age of 26
