Microsoft Shared Fax Client
Your existing Microsoft fax application will not be available after
upgrading to Windows XP, and will be replaced by the Windows XP Fax. Please
uninstall this fax application using the Add/Remove Programs in the Control
Panel, and then restart the upgrade. Your current fax settings and data will
be saved, and you can use Windows XP fax to access your existing fax servers
after the upgrade.

1. Open up My Computer.
2. Go to Tools > Folder Options.
3. Put a check in "Show hidden files and folders".
4. Click on Start, then Run.
5. Type in: CMD.
6. Type in: cd\ , then hit enter
7. Type in: dir fxsclnt.exe /s
8. Remember what directory you found the file in.
9. Type in Exit.
10. Double click on My Computer.
11. Right-click on the C: drive and click on Explorer.
12. Find the directory that housed the fxsclnt.exe.
13. Delete the file and restart.

Now, you should be able to upgrade to Windows XP.
