Windows Xp Pro shut down

I recently upgraded Windows ME to Windows XP Pro on a
Dell Computer with a Pentium 1400 MH and a 40 GB hard
drive. Now the computer will not shut down. When I try
to shut it down it restarts automatically.

Windows XP Automaticall restart when attempting to shutdown:

This problem can occur if the Automatically restart check box is selected
under System failure in the
Startup and Recovery dialog box (under System Properties (right-click my
computer). Remove the check mark
