I have a problem with Win XP Pro. I've had it for about a year and I got a problem where the login dialog box took a long time to load. It said RSSPC or something like that is starting up.... for a extended period of time. Although I was able to finally log in I noticed the following problems after loging in
1. The new XP theme was changed to the old style, but I didn't change it
2. After a mintue or so I got a message that windows was shutting down in 59 sec. by NT/Authority or NT/something, I forget
3. After multiple tries to use safemode, debugging, etc. it still didn't work. So, I inserted my XP Pro CD. Then, I went for upgrade installation and pressed "R" to repair my installation. After it copied my installation files, the Setup successfully started but, it lagged at 39 min, but it wasn't frozen. Then, after about half an hour an error box came up and told me it couldn't continue. Then, I got the info in setuperr.log. I can send it to anyone if they need it, to help me out. Please e-mail me at (e-mail address removed). Thank you for your time, and please help me if you have any informantion because I need my PC badly.

There are thousands of nasty computer viruses/worms looking for unprotected
computers. Your computer can be infected within a few milliseconds the moment
an internet connection is established if your computer is not properly secured.

Apparently, your computer is now infected with the W32.Blaster.Worm or one of its variants.
This happened because you have not been using an internet connection firewall and have
apparently neglected to install the critical updates available at the Windows Update website.

------------------------------------------------------------------

If your computer is constantly attempting to shutdown
or reboot, quickly go to:

Start > Run and type: CMD , and hit enter.
This opens the Command Prompt window.

Then type: shutdown -a , and hit enter.

This should halt the rebooting problem.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Then immediately turn-on Windows XP's built-in Firewall:

Special note if you use AOL:

America Online installs its own connection settings that override
the ones that come with Windows XP. America Online's
connection settings don't include a way to turn on Windows XP's
built-in firewall.

Visit the following web site for instructions on downloading
a FREE firewall program for your computer.
