Windows XP Pro Serial # Problem

I have a very early version of XP Pro and I want to use Nlite to slipstream
SP2 and all the updates into it so i don't have to do it manually every time
I reinstall Windows, which is about every 6 or 8 months (I'm anal about
having a clean smooth running Windows).

Since I have a version of windows that came out even before SP1 did, will my
serial # work if the version of Windows is now an SP2 version (After
slipstreaming)?

So, I just go through the process and input my serial number and it will
accept it?
