Windows XP Pro: replace file ntfs.sys

O

Ola Sonola

We have a Toshiba Portege 3500 Tablet PC. This was
supplied preinstalled with Windows XP Professional SP1 and
a set of recovery disks. The file system used is ntfs.

This computer has been in use for about six months and has
now developed a problem when booting up.

Windows could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt: Sytem32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys.

I have managed to download the setup disks required to
start Windows XP Professional SP1, however we do not have
the Windows XP Professional installation CD. I was
wondering if the file ntfs.sys could be copied from
another computer or from a windows 2000 Professional
installation CD.
