I have an old computer that was part of a domain. I tried create a home
network workgroup which seemed fine until I rebooted and is now not accepting
the old password that was connected to the domain settings or any new
passwords. I don't want to have to reinstall everything because the computer
has old software on it that I now do not know where the original downloads or
disk files are located. When I press F8 on rebooting it still goes to
windows login box when I select command prompt.

You need to ask the network administrator of your
place of business for the local administrator's password.
It's like getting a company car with only half of the
necessary keys.
