Hello

I've just had winXP cause me a major headache. After
crashing I rebooted the machine, only to find that after
the "win XP" loading graphic left the screen I got the
message:-

isass.exe - object name not found

The PC then reset itself and went into a loop, with this
message appearing every time. I re-installed XP on a 2nd
hard drive (just to get things working again) but all the
stuff that was on my desktop on drive C is now locked. I
can't open the folder, I cant copy anything across. Access
is denied. My girlfriend also had an account on the PC and
her folder is fine (I've moved all her data across to the
2nd hard drive). Does anyone have any idea what's
happening?? And, mor importantly, does anyone know whether
this data is lost for ever?? {sob}

I appreciate any help you can give me.

cheers

keef

Greetings:

The Sasser.worm has infected your computer... read the instructions
on the procedure to follow. Your files are still there, you just need to
recover access to the hard drive; In the Windows Explorer go to Tools\Folder
Options\View\remove check to disable simple file sharing and so make the
Security tab available in the drive properties. next go to the C:\drive
Properties\Security tab\Advanced Options\Owner tab\take ownership and
remove the codes that have replaced users.... you'll find complete
instructions
in the following links.
