Windows XP looping @ start up

Received message:
STOP (C0000221 (Bad Image CheckSum)
The image Wintrust.dll is possibly corrupt. The header Checksum does not
match the computed checksum.

Turn on PC, Windows XP boots up to Windows XP screen, then appears to
restart and begins to boot up again.

I would appreciate any suggestions! Thanks in advance! Cheryl

Hi Joe,
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. Yes, I have followed those
directions and ended up having to replace two corrupt .dll files (wintrust
and netapi32). Now I receive the following error message -
STOP:C000021a Fatal System Error
The Windows Logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a
status of foxc0000135 (0x00000000 0x00000000). The system has been shut
down. UGH!

Hi Joe,
No, I did not recently upgrade to XP - I've had XP for over a year - in
fact, I didn't even download anything during the time I was on the PC. All I
know is, the next day I turned on my PC and it decided to give me problems!
I decided to perform a system restore (I have a Compaq Presario) and
followed the instructions from their book. I now have my PC back in good
working order.
Thank you JOE for responding and trying to help me! I appreciate it!!
Cheryl
