When logging on the machine freezes at the Windows is
starting screen. Then I get a logon message the
states. "System could not logon. Make sure your user
name and domain are correct.
I click the OK button. It then goes to the computer
administrator log on window and retype the password and
everything works.
My question is where do I go to make sure the user name
and domaine are correct?
the screen freezes at the Windows is starting window for
any where from 5 to 30 minutes.

If your system is a stand-alone you can perform the steps given below:

This problem can happen if the Client for Microsoft Networks protocol is
installed in your system.

Therefore, uninstall this protocol from your system and then reinstall it.
