Windows XP laptop issue.. mouse movement leads to BSOD

Hello,

I have a problem with my laptop, I have just replaced a faulty motherboard
and at the moment while the PC will get to the desktop any movement of the
mouse pointer leads to a BSOD crash. I can get in to the PC in safe mode and
no issues occur.

I am guessing that this error is caused by an IRQ conflict, however I have
no idea how to solve it. I have attempted to repair the instilation of
windows using my XP cd however the system refuses to recognise the admin
password, which i have reset to no affect.

Any help anyone can offer would be very welcome.

Hi,

What is the exact text of the BSOD? What module(s) are involved? Have your
reinstalled the pointer driver?

The exact code changes but usualy its a page fault in non paged area issue.

I have done a clean instal on my spare partition and this seems to be
working fine, save for a few bits of hardware that need drivers updating.

this time the code was 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x1FFEAB20, 0XBA5377A4,
0X00000000)

That is after unistaling and re-instaling the mouse.

Hi,

What you have amounts to a device driver issue. You might try downloading
and installing the most recent release from the manufacturer of the pointer
device.
