RAM doesn't "clog". You haven't given us enough information about your
computer and the problem so we can help you. Depending on what is really
happening, the cause could be hardware, software, or even both. Here are
a few questions you need to answer:

1. Computer description, specs, version of XP & Service Pack level
2. Antivirus/security software installed
3. When *exactly* does the computer lock up? Do you ever get into Windows?
4. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

5. The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:

6. Does the problem happen in Safe Mode? Have you tried Last Known Good
Configuration? What *have* you already tried?

post:

What makes you think that your problems are caused by "ram clogs"? I
doubt that this is the cause of your problems. Did yo look in the Event
Viewer to see if any errors are recorded?

If you want to clear the memory then you can use Clearmem.exe, it's in
the Server 2003 or NT 3.x or 4.0 Resource kit. The Server 2003 Resource
Kit can be downloaded here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...69-57FF-4AE7-96EE-B18C4790CFFD&displaylang=en

You can also find the utility by itself on various web sites.

I don't think this will be useful in fixing your problem but if you want
to try it go ahead, it won't hurt your pc. Beware of some posters who
may come by and offer you "Memory Optimizing" of "Memory
Defragmentation" programs, these things are nothing more than snake oil
that cause more problems than good! These utilities don't do much more
than what clearmem does, and although clearmem may be useful in some
very limited circumstances, or for certain troubleshooting purposes, I
do not advocate using the utility to casually clear the memory, leave
the memory management to the Windows Memory Manager.

The Reset button "clears" the RAM. The question is WHERE does the the
computer halt during startup. Before or after the Windows logo is displayed.

use MSCONFIG and start by disabling all none microsoft programs.
reboot and see.

then start adding the none microsoft programs back in a few at a time to figure out which one is causing the problem.
