When I boot up, everything is fine until I get to my desktop and there is
Window Installer trying to install Roxio 7. I no longer have it on my
system and don't want it on my system. If I leave it alone, it eventually
says that it can't find a certificate and gives an error message. After
clicking on the OK about three times it goes away...Until I try
right-clicking on something...Icon...xxx.exe...etc. Then the fun starts all
over again. I have done a system wide search for anything to do with Roxio
7 and have deleted everything that I find. It's like crabgrass...you can
kill it but it won't stay dead. I am the administrator and no other users
on system. I have run several registry clean-up utilities and that doesn't
work either. I have Service Pack 2, and the latest 3.1 installer and have
no other serious problems...HELP ME SOMEONE ! ! !

Bob, have you looked in Program Files and deleted the Roxio Folder?

Run MSCONFIG and see if anything from the uninstalled Roxio is in Startup

With the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, you can remove a program's
Windows Installer configuration information.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

When you run the CleanUp Utility it *should* list Roxio 7.
If it does not, then * do NOT * use it to remove any other installer
configuration information.
