WINDOWS XP INSTALL

My laptop came with XP HOME. I bought XP PRO later. Since
installing XP PRO when I boot up I get a screen that shows
two XP PRO options. If I choose the first I get a desktop
with blue sky and a lot of green grass. The only object on
the screen is a recycle bin icon. If I choose the second
option I get a desktop with all my stuff from the original
XP home, which is what I want. How do I get rid of the
first option?

Hi Lou,

Start/run msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab. Click the one you want to keep,
then click "set as default". Click apply/ok, reboot and make sure the system
loads that one, and make note if it's the first or second line.

Then start/run C:\boot.ini, remove the unwanted line from the [operating
systems] section. Click file/save and close.
