Windows XP Hosts File

For some reason, Windows XP will not recognize any
changes I make to my Hosts file. It is in the proper
format and is in the proper folder (C:\WINDOWS\system32
\drivers\etc). I'd appreciate any insights to fixing
this problem.

Make sure that the file is saved as just "hosts", with no file type.
If it's saved as "hosts.txt", it won't work.

You can use this command to edit the Hosts file, being sure to include
the "." at the end:

notepad C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts.
