My Windows XP Home will not load at startup. After shutting down my computer
for a few days (I normally never shut it down), I get a message that says;
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer." It goes on to say to try to reboot and if that doesn't
work to disable anti-virus & disk utilities. Check hd config, run chkdsk /f
and restart computer. The message also has; STOP: 0X00000024 (0X001901FD,
0X833B4888, 0XC0000102, 0X0000000). I've tried to reboot, safe mode, last
good setting & everything else I could thing of. I can't figure how to run
chkdsk and at this point F1 & F8 aren't even working. Any Help?

Hi

Please try the following link to Jim Eshelman's web site - left hand
column(24):

http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

Failing that, you may have to look towards a 'Repair' install of XP -
especialy as none of the options you have already tried have helped.
