windows xp home edition

I started using xp with a upgrade from win 98se,after a
while my win 98 se disc became corrupted so I was unable
to format when and if I wanted to. I have now purchased a
full xp home edition and would like to pass the upgrade
to my son is this possible
 
Sure, Just do it. If it's more that 120 days it will
activate online , if not it's a automated call.

You can do that. Only OEM versions are no transferrable amongst
machines.
