Windows XP Home Edition - CTRL and ALT don't work

I cannot get the CTRL or ALT keys to work regardless of
the keyboard I use on my system. I have a Sony VAIO with
XP Home Edition and all of the latest updates - HELP!!!!

that sounds like a problem with your keybord driver, maybe u can look on the sony homepage for a driver of your keybord.

The keyboard driver cannot be replaced - XP says it is
already the correct driver! Sony says I have to reinstall
the XP OS! Rather not do that...Any other thoughts???
