I have had several crashes over the last couple of years and Dell charges me
$100 every time I ask for help. My most recent symptoms are:
1. windows will not reboot when i shutdown without the reinstallation CD. I
tried to "Repair" using the CD and it reloading everything again. I keep
getting a message "this version of windows is no longer up to date"..
Everytime I try to update, i get a message " Website has encountered a
problem.....Error # 0x8007043B"
Can anyone give me any ideas of what i can do to fix the problem before i
make the dreaded phone call to Dell?

At this point I would do a full, clean installation of Windows. Be sure to
back up (if you can) your important data and files. You can get the
installation instructions off the Dell website or simply Google for "clean
installation of Windows". Unplug everything but the keyboard, mouse and
monitor. You can keep speakers plugged in, but to be safe just unplug them
as well.

I meant to type Google of course. Not Goggle.

to fix the problem about the error here is the link:

http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/showarticle.aspx?articleid=19&ln=es

Now about your cd...is out of date, that mean that your computer is runing a
new version of windows xp home...I was having the same problem with mi
computer that a buy from dell 6 years ago and what i did was a clean install,
or getting the new version from dell probably they send you a copy for less
price.....but first fix this error message to see if after that your computer
run better
