Windows XP home boot disk

I don't have a bootable cd rom so I wanted to make a boot
disk to reload XP from CD (because my system has been
compramised by a worm to which the removal tool could not
remove). My intent is to reformat the c drive and
completly reload windows. Microsoft offer a program
(winxpsp1_en_hom_bf.exe) which is suposed to boot the
computer from a floppy except the file is 4.2 mb in size.
How do I make a 4.2 mb boot disk is my question. can
anyone offer some advice.

Are you sure, I don't think I've ever seen a machine w/ XP
on it that didn't boot from a cd. The hardware
availability to boot from cd has been out since late win
95 early 98 installs.
If your familiar w/ how to get into your bios, usually by
pressing del or F1 as soon as you cut on your computer,
find your boot sequence sections and change your first
boot device to cd rom. Put your XP cd in and restart your
computer after saving the changes in your bios. After
that it should boot the xp cd and you should be able to
accomplish the rest from there.

Uhm no, not really. The ability to put a floppy disk in which will load DOS
with CD ROM support has been around since Win98, but not the ability to have
the pc boot from a CD before the floppy or hard disk drives. This is a
feature of a computer's BIOS and while it has been around for several years
(maybe 4 or 5), it hasn't been around since 95 - 98.

That is a program which, when you run it, makes a set of six floppies to
boot up to the point you get to on booting a regular XP CD
