Windows XP Home admin privilege

I replaced a floppy disk in a computer for a workmate and
it worked fine. Since then he has returned it with the
problem that his son cannot access games on the machine.

The error message states:

Access Denied

Please log on with administrators privileges and try again.

I have checked the user account and he has administrators
privileges.

Any suggestions

i cant see how replacing a floppy disk drive would effect
this at all... try loggin in as a new user (or possibly
the 'administrator' login, no password if its default
setting)

I agree and cannot see how this would be caused by
changing the floppy.

I suspect a corrupted file caused by the user but can only
work with what I am given. The PC has three log on users,
two with passords and one without, one password I do not
have access to, I have checked over the other one of the
password settings plus the one without; both have
administrators privilege rights assigned although when I
try ot access the games I get the log on using admin
privilege. I had thought before looking it over that the
users had been set to limited but not the case.

I will give it a try on a few other ideas but feel that I
might need to reformat and was hoping someone had come
across this before.

Thanks Chris

I tried that but no joy, I have asked the user to supply
the original software disks and will try a repair
installation, failing that I will reformat and install
from scratch.
