Windows XP Home - Activation

Due to a corrupt O/S, Windows XP Home had to be
reinstalled. This PC belongs to a company, who cannot
locate the CD that came with this Toshiba laptop.
Windows was reinstalled with a WinXP Home CD from a Dell
laptop, and now we cannot activate the software. The 800
number for activation is automated, and offers no
resolution. The product is paid for, is not pirated, and
we need it activated. Who can we call?

Thanks in advance...

Brian;
Toshiba, they can replace with the correct CD.
There is no requirement that Toshiba provide a replacement CD for fee
or otherwise.
Their Product Key will likely not work with another CD.
That is why those CDs are so important to protect.

Greetings --

You call the laptop's owner and wait until you get the legitimate
OEM installation CD. The laptop's owner should be contacting the
laptop's manufacturer for support. (And the OS you've installed - the
Dell OEM license - is, in fact, now pirated. By you.)
