Windows Xp Home Activation

Hi, I recently loaded HP Windows XP Home to my laptop with the 5 discs that had to be loaded. AFter windows as installed it says i need to activate it within 30 days so i was wondering could anyone help me with the installation and maybe even finding the drivers because the laptop will not read my usb or external hard drive. Please can anybody help!
