Windows XP help hangs

WHenever I use a search in XP help, my computer hangs and
I have to end the process. I searched the knowledge base
without any luck on this topic. It is a new, clean
install and I had just downloaded SP1 as well as other
recommended updates. It worked fine until I downloaded
the other updates. Any suggestions? Thanks.
