PC Hangs At Saving Your Settings

Kamal

Sometimes my PC hangs on saving your settings.

I am able to move the mouse cursor but CTRL ALT DEL does not work.

I have looked at Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 307274 but thats telling
me to install SP1.

I already have SP1 will all the latest updates.

My motherboard is MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD MS-6738

My Processor is 1.60 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP with 512 DDR RAM.

Anyone else have any other ideas.

Thanks Kamal

Hi, Kamal.
Sometimes my PC hangs on saving your settings.

How long have you waited? An hour obviously is way too long, but sometimes
it can take minutes for WinXP to finish its housekeeping and continue the
shutdown. Usually, if you just wait it out and let it finish the cleanup
once, future shutdowns will not take so long.

Of course, that might not be the answer in your case. Have you had a look
at MVP Jim Eshelman's startup/shutdown troubleshooting page?
