Hi Everyone

I build computers and recently, I came acrros a strange problem with Aopen
XC Cube systems. When installing some software on them, it sometimes gives me
the blue screen of death then, Windows shut down, re-start and give me a
"Windows XP has encountered a serious error, send report to Microsoft..." I
can't actually send the reports has these machines do not have any modems.

The problem happen with different software, on different machines all with
their own registered version of XP SP2. Generally, installig the software a
second time work OK !

The only thing I can think off is because all those machines use a S-ATA
hard drive and needs to have an external Sys driver installed when installing
Windows (Supplied with the Mobo). This driver is NOT signed for Windows XP.
Can this be the problem ? and if yes would anyone know a solution ?

Many thanks in advance

Fred

If you suggest that these machines all fail to install XP correctly and fall
over with BSOD issues during the installation / setup phase of XP, then it is
possible that there mat be an updated driver set for the SCSI controller
which will overcome the fault.

It is also possible [but you do not indentify the eroor message] that there
is another device with which XP is having problems.

Hi

Thanks for your reply

The driver supplied with the Mobo is apparently made for XP (but not
signed). I've checked on the Aopen website for an updated driver but haven't
found anything suitable.
I'm waiting for them to get back to me on this issue too.

I don't have time to identify the problem as the blue screen only appears
for a couple of seconds before rebooting and sending the "Send error
report..." message which doesn't provide any help to what the problem is !
