Windows XP Hardware problem

All of the sudden, windows does not recognize either of my CD-rom drives. My
dvd rom or CDR. Any thoughts?

You need to work out if the problem lies with Windows
or with your hardware. Boot the machine with a Win98
boot disk from www.bootdisk.com. If it can recognise
the CD drive then it's a Windows problem. If it can't
then it's a hardware problem.
