I am the systems admin and have 3 other logons (my wife & 2 children) When I
logon everything is okay and runs fine. When I log off and the system is not
used straight away by someone else when it gets to the point where the XP
screen saver cuts in , instead of the black screen and the screen saver I get
a grey screen with the mouse cursor and the whole computer locks up/freezes.
The same happens if someone logs on straight after me they bootup then the
computer freezes straight away only thing I can do is re-boot. It only
happens when Ilogon , everyone else can and swap between logons etc and all
is fine . I have done a Cont-Alt-Del and compared what is running when I and
other logons are on they are virtually all the same ?

Have you checked to see what RAM and virtual memory are doing? How much RAM
do you have, and what are your virtual memory settings? If virtual memory is
being handled by the OS, try manually setting the Virtual memory to three (3x
RAM) for Initial and Maximum settings. i.e. If you have 1 GB RAM, set
Initial and Maximum to 3072. Reboot and test drive the system. If the
results are negative, return teh settings to "out of the box."

Rudd,
You will have to be more specific for me please , how do I do what you have
said below ? Not a computer expert unfortunately !
