Windows XP freezes when I attempt to attach device to internal USB 2.0

Hi,

I have a PC that is running Windows XP Pro which freezes every time I
try to add a USB device to one of the internal USB 2.0 connections. I
have tried two different ports and different devices with the same
result - the PC freezes and I have to reboot.

I have also re-set the BIOS on the motherboard thinking that maybe the
BIOS had gotten corrupted and was affecting the USB devices on the
motherboard - and it has not helped. I have run Norton SystemWorks One
Button Checkup thinking that it might catch some things in the Registry
etc that might be causing the problem. Again after doing this and
'fixing' the errors found by this step - I get the same problem i.e. my
system freezes when I try to attach a device using one of the internal
USB 2.0 connections.

I went to Windows XP's Event log and looked at the events and I found
out the following error messages that I thought were relevant to this
error that I was seeing.. I am copying and pasting these messages
below:

1. Error message from Norton SystemWorks 2005 One Button Checkup - -
Norton Cleanup Scan

THE ERROR MESSAGE FOLLOWS:

The key, "AtWorkRendering\shell\PrintTo\command," refers to an invalid
command entry,
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0."


2. Error message from Norton SystemWorks 2005 One Button Checkup -
Invalid ActiveX/COM Entries

THE ERROR MESSAGE FOLLOWS:

The key, "AtWorkRendering\shell\PrintTo\command," refers to an invalid
command entry,
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0."

Try uninstalling Mozilla Firefox and downloading latest version.
