I have a computer I am working on, no it's not my computer but this problem
seems to baffle me. I am trying to install XP Home on the computer and it
seems like whenever you get past the part of formatting the drive and loading
the installation files onto the harddrive for Windows to start the next step
it reboots the computer and loads the Windows XP screen for the first time
with the blue loading bar it freezes. I at first thought this was a problem
with the XP Home cd I was using so I borrowed a friends for the installation
but it seems to be doing the same thing. I have run DOS diagnoistic tests on
all the hardware on the computer (CPU, HD, video, and audio) and everything
comes back 100% working. I have also tried deleting the master boot record
though fdisk and reformatting the drive on another computer to see if it
would help. I am just baffled to what this could be, never seen anything
happen like this in a XP installation. Is it me or does this sound somehow
hardware related?
