Windows XP freeze and reboot with games

Hi all,

Can anyone please provide me with some guidance re a
problem I am having with Warcraft III and Vietcong?
Both programs are freezing intermittently (always at
different points in the game), sometimes doing an
automatic reboot of my computer. When the game does
freeze without the reboot automatically happening, it
freezes solid...no CTRL/ALT/DEL combo for it! I have
checked the admistrative tools section of XP and the
culprit appears to be the True Vectors Service. I have
only just upgraded my nVidia GEForce 4 Ti4400 drivers
with the latest version off the nVidia website. Surfing
the web causes absolutely no problems whatsoever - it's
only when I start playing the video intensive games that
I start getting the problems. Is there something extra I
should be doing with the drivers (I am up to date with
the Windows XP update program) on the video card? Any
help would be appreciated before I haul it off to the
shop where the techs will laugh at me!

many thanks,

Chuck

Hi Chuck,

True Vector service is part of Zone Alarm. I suspect the
installation has become unstable. Uninstall Zone Alarm,
reboot, and then try the game again. Enable your XP
ICF(irewall ) while you have Zone Alarm uninstalled. :)
