WinXP seems to forget several things.
It keeps rearranging the icons on my desktop after a reboot and
sometimes even during a session. I have "Align to Grid" and "Lock Web
Items on Desktop" both set, but WinXP forgets where I want my icons.
When I open any given window after rebooting, that window always opens
maximized. Further, its icons are as if I had selected [View > Icons].
I change the window to normal and select [View > List]. Until I
reboot, that particular window will then open as I set it. If I then
reboot, I have to go through those changes again. When I select [Tools
but WinXP forgets.
Occasionally, my dial-up connection window forgets my user name,
changing it to "user". (I set it NOT to remember my password.)
