When I go to save or load any file, the order of the documents in the
standard file selector is in a seemingly random order (It appears to relate
to when it was last accessed) regardless of how I previously set the
'Arrange by...' context menu.

Does anybody know how I can fix this so that I don't have to Right
Click-Arrange By... in every folder, every time I save or load anything, it
is driving me CRAZY!@#!#@!

Thanks In Advance..

Michael -

I'm having exactly the same problem, my findings to date are that it appears
to be related to the user account as other accounts on the PC seem to
operate correctly. I was wondering if deleting and recreating the affected
user account would resolve the problem? A bit harsh, but in light of no
other solution...

I have found the solution, it is a registry hack.

Go to : http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_opensaveorder.htm

and download the registry file, merge it and the Open/Save dialog will sort
the files properly.

As the registry hack adds to Hkey, Current User,... your alternate solution
would be the only other was of correcting the situation, but now we have
seen the light....

Thanks anyway.
