Windows XP Defrag freezes after 26% complete

Please help , i have tried using different defrag
utilities including Disk keeper 8.0 and Nortan Utilities
and they all hang at a certain point and can never fully
defrag. Someone please display all the steps i can take to
solve the problem. I tried chkdsking the disk. What else
should i do?

Try defragging in Safe Mode.

Do y'all have GoBack, zonealarm, antivirus, other running?
