Windows XP Crashing but system hardware detected as ok by professi

I have had a p[roblem with windows crashing every time I start it up.
Sometimes I will get a busy signal and sometimes it starts then freezes and
never starts again. I also sometimes get a blue screen or a system 32 error
of some sort. The professionals have tested all my hardware and say nothing
is wrong and they can never duplicate the problem in their store. Is it
possible something I am plugging into the computer at home could be causing
the issue (i.e. not compatible ?) I had bought a new keyboard and speakers
near the time these problems started occuring. Or could the problem be
something else.
Thanks

What does the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) or System32 error box
say. Those are symptoms of the underlying issue. Without those details
nobody on the NG is going to be able to assist you.

The error message says file is missing windows/system32/cinfig/system
My computer store where I get service has fixed the above error several
times and got the system working in their office fine. I then come home and
the same problem occurs either the 1st or 2nd time turned on. Again, do you
know if this could be because of something I have plugged in to the computer,
or something else? Why doesn't fixing the problem make it go away?

It's a Registry Hive issue.

Normally, this can have a number of causes. The computer shop
is not addressing the root cause - but likely restoring your Registry
to a point where the issue did not exist. Again this is a type of
issue that needs "Hands-On" work. There are just too many
things that need checking to relate to try and convey on the NG.

It's doubtful that a peripheral is at the root of the problem.
Impossible to say with any degree of certainty.

Please don't take the machine back to the same shop/store. Save
your money.

....or, if you do, take everything in, including the stuff you "plug in
at home."
