Windows XP crashed while installing Norton A/V 2003

Could anybody please, HELP!!!
While installing Norton A/V 2003 in my friend computer running Windows XP
SP1 ,the blasted thing crashed!
I tried to reboot to no avail,i get to the booting choices screen(Last know
good ,safe,safe with network) and when I choose any of them ,the evil
contraption freezes,I tried to boot from the CD and of course i got an
"missing line from Cd ,bla,bla,bla,What could i do ?
