Windows XP can't load drivers

Hi,

I'm running windows xp sp 2 on a dual processor Dell Precision workstation.
I did a flash bios update. Since then everytime that the machine boots up and
windows xp starts I get a dialog that says "New hardware found" - my cd
drive, my dvd drive and my epson printer. I tried to unload the drivers then
reload them and I get a message that says it can't load the driver.

What should I try next?

For you CD/DVD drives, you can try:

Restore CD/DVD in Explorer

the drives have always been visible in explorer. My problem is that XP says
"new hardware found" then won't load the drivers & I can't print anymore :-(

Have you contacted Dell. Sometimes Dell etal, do not stick to the
standards to well.

I spent 2 hours on the phone with Dell and the sum total of their help was
"reinstall the OS"

They were no help
