Windows XP and Win2k dual boot

I currently have a Win2k and XP dual boot. I want to install linux (this
main machine is the only setup I have with the required P4 for linux) as a
separate boot on this machine, but first, if it wouldn't cause too much
problem, I'd like to 'unisntall' the Win2k operating system. My questions
are:

How can I effectively uninstall the Win2k? (I never use the Win2k anymore)
and
Would the W2k uninstall adversely affect the XP operating system and boot?

Before I install the linux Mandrake 10.1, I want to Ghost this system
without the Win2k first. Or, would it be better to leave Win2k on, do a
Ghost image and install the linux as a triple boot option?

I apoligize if this is the wrong group to write to but I had no idea where
to go with this........

TIA for any advice or warnings........... katy

Use Virtual PC 2004. This will permit you to install and run as many
linux distros as you like without reboots or partitioning. See:
