windows xp and streets & tips

When I use Street and Tips to save maps for my pocket
pc, the map files are saved as mpegs not as mps. Anybody
have any ideas as why. I am using windows xp home edition,
street and trips 2002, pocket pc 3.0, and active sync 3.5.
