I have a windows XP Pro machine and when connected to the
internet (DSL) it will disconnect. I have unchecked
the "disconnect if idle" box and it still happens. Any
suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Hello

Contact your ISP Provider and make sure that your line is
active. Also open a DOS window and do IPconfig to see if
your getting an IP address

Yes, the line is active. It will connect and stay
connected and then later on (hours) will disconnect from
the internet. I figured it should stay connected for days
and never disconnect.
When it had XP Home on it, it seemed to stay connected
more reliably.

Thanks,
Dave

Some ISPs are disconnecting users after a given connect time. Contact
your ISP about this problem to eliminate this as a source.
