Windows XP and Domain Conflicts

Would anyone know if there is a reason that I cannot logon
to my work Domain? In Windows 98 the Network Logon screen
comes up when I boot the computer.

Well, there are some possibilities:

You might not have network accessibility (no card, or card
not installed, or misconfigured, or IP misconfiguration).

You might not be able to reach the domain controller (
no domain controller, or its off, or you're not on a network connected
to it, or routing problems, or firewall problems).

There are probably more possibilities, I'm not sure.

Probably the thing to do is to explain your situation, and
what troubleshooting you have or haven't done, to narrow
down some of the possibilities.
