Windows XP and Corel Word Perfect

I'm definitely NOT a computer know it all. I just bought
a great HP Pavilion CPU and it's great. Problem: I do
not like WORD and use Corel WordPerfect 7. As a court
transcriptionist, I use WordPerfect 5.1 DOS--yes, that's
right, it's still the "standard" in the field.

Is there ANY way I can get my XP Windows to accept
installation of WordPerfect 7?

Thanks in advance, and here's an alternative mail site:

Just buy the Corel WP if you don't have it now. It should
install and run. BTW, WP 10 or 11 is the current version.

I should have added, you can use the compatibility feature
of XP to tell the program that is running on W9x if it needs
be.

I also preferred WP version 7 to any of MS's offerings.. unfortunately, it
is not compatible with XP.. the new versions are though.. I do use MS Office
now.. took a while to get used to it and I still feel that some aspects are
overly complex, but it is more widely used.. I believe that 90% of all
wordprocessor users are MS Word..

WordPerfect 11 is the current version, but it will be so for only
a couple more weeks. WP 12 is due out around the end of this
month.

As far as Bill's question about WP 7, I don't know whether it
will run unde Windows XP, but I suggest that he ask in one of the
newsgroups on Corels's server, cnews.corel.com.

I used the compatibility feature to get my old Corel WordPerfect to run.
It runs fine now. Just right click on the shortcut, click on properties,
then click find target. Right click on the program file(it should go to
it and be hilighted), click on properties, click on compatibility tab
and check the box and make it run like win98, click ok. It should work.
