Wordperfect 11, 12 Hangs on startup!

Please tell me I don't have to use MS Word!

For many months I have been using Wordperfect 11 on my Lenovo laptop
with XP home edition and 768 of memory. But suddenly, wordperfect will
not open. Nor will it open if I double-click on a wordperfect
document. Assuming the application had become corrupted, I reinstalled
it, no fix. Then I bought Wordperfect 12 and installed it. Nothing.

It hangs at the opening screen and then no longer responds. If I click
too many times I get an ominous blue screen that tells me that windows
has to quit.

Any help?
