Windows XP Activation

I installed XP. In my system tray is an icon that says I only have 7
days to activate. When I double click on the icon, the "Windows Product
Activation" appears and says Windows is already activiated, but the next
time I boot up I get the message saying that I need to activate windows.

I have tried to going to Start--> All programs --> accessories--> systems
Tools --> Activate. But the System Tools does not have a "Activate" icon.
I have also booted in safe mode and tried to running "regsvr32.exe
regwizc.dll" and "regsvr32.exe licdll.dll".

How do I make sure that my XP is correctly activated and how do I get the
icon in my system tray to disappear?

I'd call them and activate over the phone.

Then ask them what happens if your computer stops working in 30 days in
advance.
