Windows XP 64 Wont load nic driver

I just installed Windows XP 64bit edition and tried loading the nic adapter driver and it loads but then says the driver never loaded. I've disabled the mb nic and installed a new nic and the same thing comes up. Can anyone lead me in the right direction. The motherboard is a Asus k8v deluxe with built in 3com 3C940 chip Athelon 64 +3400 1 gig Ram and I've installed a linksys etherfast10/100 lan card with the same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's one of the hazards of installing beta software. The manufacturers may
not have written drivers yet, and/or may not have any interest in supply
drivers until the product is actually in retail production.
