Windows won't startup

I was just doing some work on my computer, installing a new fan, case lights
and I had to unplug the floppy drive briefly but plugged it back in again.

While working I needed to power up the lights and fans and found the only
way to do this was to start up the computer, carelessly using the computer's
own power on button to switch it off in between testing. After setting up the
computer again and plugging everything back in I've been trying to boot it. I
am told that the computer did not shut down correctly and am given a choice
of options. I've chosen safe mode, start up normally and start with last
settings and each time I do it soon flashes up the animated screen to say
Windows is starting but suddenly it restarts itself, returning me to the
screen to say it hasn't been shut off properly. What can I do to fix this?

Do you still have the same problem if you put the old fan back in and
disconnect the lights?

Thanks for the reply but I managed to fix the problem. Somehow my BIOS got
altered and the method for accessing my SATA harddrives got changed.

Strange, all that from swapping a fan and adding some lights.
Well, thanks for posting back with results.
