Windows won't start!

My laptop wouldn't boot yesterday since the RAM was faulty, and now
I've bought some new RAM and it boots. Furthermore, it now passes
Memtest-86 with no errors.

However, another problem has revealed itself since after booting I am
now given the option of Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, Last Good
Configuration, Start Windows Normally, etc. Whichever option I choose
the computer freezes. Perhaps the constant crashing as the RAM was
dying caused Windows to screw up?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a remedy?

What is the make and model of the hard drive?

Download and run the drive manufacturer's test
utility.

Have you tried to boot with your Windows XP in
your CD drive? What happens?

Hope this helps.
