Windows Vista is currently available to beta testers (not CPP) and
MSDN/Technet subscribers.

I don't believe we have details on when/if Microsoft will release a trial
version.

I am a (UK) MSDN subscriber

Me too.
and I haven't been able to get to the MSDN logon page let alone down load
anything!

I was unable to access it a couple of hours ago, but it seems to be OK now.

Still no Vista x64, though...

The servers are slammed. MS had both x86 and x64 (English only) up for
about a day and then had to reconfigure the servers. Presently, only the
x86 is available on MSDN here in the US. They posted a notice in TechBeta
that x64 will be back up soon.

Well, RTM version is the one they intend to make money on... They don't want
to give it away for free.
